A beautiful mid-mountain raspberry grown organically by small producers... Ponthier has sourced the Willamette variety from Serbia to produce its organic raspberry purée. The Willamette raspberry is grown by small family farms in mid-mountain areas 300- 900 metres above sea level and surrounded by woodland. The woodland fauna and flora provide the predatory auxiliaries and nutrients needed by the crops, which flourish without any chemical treatment. These have a lower yield per hectare but offer a strong, tangy, fragrant taste and higher BRIX. The achenes are removed from the purée during processing to cancel any bitterness. Only the flesh of the fruit remains.
